    I have worked in special needs education for 11 years since joining a special school as a TA in 2004. I achieved my degree and QTS in 2009 while working full time and have become a member of the school’s management team and core curriculum co-ordinator in the last two years. I joined the sector after being an Early Year’s NVQ assessor and nursery manager and working very closely with a family whose son was diagnosed with Autism when he was 17 months old. Adapting my practice to meet his individual needs was my motivation. I have become a skilled educator of children with special needs especially in the field of communication, interaction and reading development; specifically the development of phonics teaching.
